Aeronautic Research & Technology Projects

esploro provides world-class project & consortium management for National- and European-funded Research Projects, with a strong focus to date on aeronautics projects on LuFo and Clean Aviation programmes as well as on business development for future project initiatives.

About esploro projects

With locations in Bremen Airport City (ECOMAT), Hamburg Finkenwerder (ZAL) and Toulouse in close proximity to the key decision-makers for the most important aeronautic research projects, we provide top consulting and expertise in initiating, managing and shaping current and future projects towards success. To do this, we have established a team of experienced and highly motivated project engineers and managers from different educational and cultural backgrounds.

Our experience

Our long years of experience allow us to work in complex and constantly changing project environments, anticipating and respecting the needs of the different European stakeholders while managing a large number of technologies. esploro projects has deep and holistic comprehension of the project leader’s and consortium’s objectives and needs, from developing a competitive proposal to managing granted projects to their completion. Our capabilities provide the support needed to relieve the Coordinator of the non-technical issues that arise within your project, without risking that it drifts off course. Additionally we specialise in Product Lifecycle Management to complete our portfolio with sustainability studies in aeronautics.

Areas of Expertise

Project Highlights

SMR-ACAP

SMR ACAP project will focus on the small/medium range (SMR) aircraft architecture and technology. Specifically, it will steer and manage the definition of the targeted SMR aircraft configurations with all key performance features required for the SMR architecture. It will provide the digital collaborative framework with tools, means and skills needed to achieve the Clean Aviation goals: reduce emissions by 30 % compared to a 2020 state-of-the-art technology and replace 75 % of the fleet by 2050.

UP Wing

The Ultra Performance Wing project will validate, down select, mature and demonstrate key technologies and provide the architectural integration of “ultra-performance wing” concepts for targeted ultra-efficient Short/Medium Range aircraft (SMR), i.e. 150-250 PAX and 1000-2000nm range. UP Wing will consider a high aspect ratio SAF wing with turbofan engine targeting 10-13% and a dry high aspect ratio wing with open rotor up to 17% energy efficiency efficiency increase on wing level..

ODE4HERA

The objective of the Open Digital Environment for Hybrid-Electric Regional Architectures project is to enable and accelerate the development of Hybrid-Electric Regional (HER) aircraft. ODE4HERA will combine MBSE, MDO, SDM and PLM technologies and extend them with novel open interfaces, formats, smart model and data transformation technologies efficiently handling and processing HER configurations complexity, including frontload verification at design stage and virtualize validation for improved virtual certification.

FASTER-H2

Hydrogen fuel could bring aviation a step closer to reaching net-zero emissions, yet the transition to hydrogen involves a rethinking of aircraft design. FASTER-H2 project will investigate advanced technologies for designing an integrated fuselage and empennage configuration to reduce production waste and increase material exploitation. This integrated fuselage concept is expected to reach a TRL 3-4 by 2025.
